8-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech: Imperial Cities, Chefchaouen & Sahara
Why go?
Start your Moroccan adventure at the Atlantic and finish in the Red City. This 8-day private tour links the great imperial cities of the north with the desert of the south: the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, the capital Rabat, the blue town of Chefchaouen, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, Meknes and the medina of Fes.
From Fes you cross the Middle Atlas and its cedar forests to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you ride camels at sunset and sleep in a desert camp. The return west follows the Todra and Dades gorges and the kasbah road to Ait Ben Haddou, before crossing the High Atlas to Marrakech.
A complete loop of Morocco in just over a week, ideal if you land in Casablanca and want to see both the cities and the Sahara, with a guided last day in Marrakech.

Tour Plan
Our driver welcomes you at Casablanca Mohammed V airport or your hotel. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, built partly over the ocean, with its carved marble, cedar ceilings and tall minaret. Continue to Rabat to see the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Night in Rabat. If you land in the evening, we take you straight to your hotel.
A scenic four-hour drive through rolling hills and villages brings you to the Rif Mountains and Chefchaouen. Spend the afternoon in the blue medina: its stairways, small squares, craft shops and cafés, and climb to the Spanish Mosque for the sunset. Night in Chefchaouen.
Head south through the Rif countryside to Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco, famous for its mosaics. Continue to Meknes, the 17th-century capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail, to see the Bab Mansour gate and his mausoleum, then arrive in Fes for the night.
A full day in Fes with a local guide: the gates of the Royal Palace, the Mellah, the medersas of the old medina, the Nejjarine fountain, the Karaouine area and the Chouara tanneries. End with a panoramic view over the medina from the Merinid tombs.
Drive south through Ifrane and the cedar forest where Barbary macaques live, then down the Ziz Valley and its palm groves. In the afternoon, ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset and reach your desert camp for dinner, music around the fire and a night under the stars.
Wake up for the sunrise over the dunes, then return to Merzouga for breakfast. Pass through Rissani and its traditional market, walk in the Todra Gorge and continue to the Dades Valley and its “monkey finger” rock formations. Dinner and night in the Dades Valley.
Follow the road of the kasbahs to Ouarzazate, home of the Atlas film studios, and visit the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. Cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, in time for an evening on Jemaa el-Fna. Night in Marrakech.
Discover Marrakech with a local guide: the Koutoubia, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Medersa and the souks, and finish at the Majorelle Garden. Transfer to Marrakech Menara airport, or back to Casablanca airport if you fly from there.
