A week to travel from Fes to Marrakech through the heart of Morocco, with a focus on authentic places and encounters. After a guided tour of the medina of Fes, you cross the Middle Atlas and its cedar forests to the Sahara.
In Merzouga you ride camels to a desert camp, then spend a day by 4x4 with the semi-nomadic families of the desert and the Gnawa musicians of Khamlia. The road continues through Tinghir, the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley to Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou, where you sleep inside the old kasbah village.
On the last day you cross the High Atlas and we drop you at your hotel or at the airport in Marrakech.

Tour Plan

Welcome at Fes airport and transfer to your riad in the medina. Free time to rest or take a first walk in the old city.

Visit the medina of Fes with an official guide in the morning, then drive into the Middle Atlas through Ifrane and the cedar forest of the Barbary macaques. Dinner and night in Midelt, at 1,500 metres.

Cross the Tizi n’Talghemt pass and follow the Ziz Valley south to Erfoud and its fossils. In Merzouga, ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes to your desert camp for dinner and the night.

After the sunrise, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4 and set off on desert tracks to meet semi-nomadic families, listen to Gnawa music in Khamlia and admire the dunes from a high viewpoint. Dinner and night in Merzouga.

Visit Rissani, continue to Tinghir and walk in the Todra Gorge, then follow the road of the kasbahs to Boumalne Dades. Dinner and night in the Dades Valley.

Drive through the palm grove of Skoura to Ouarzazate and its Taourirt kasbah, then reach Ait Ben Haddou. Visit the UNESCO-listed ksar and spend the night in a riad in the village.

Cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass and descend through the mountain valleys to Marrakech. Drop-off at your hotel, riad or Marrakech airport. End of the tour.
